Can I suggest the terrifying 1995 book 'Little girls in Pretty Boxes.' It's even more shocking when you realise that it was published significantly before the Athlete A/Larry Nassar case.

I read that one last year! What’s really scary is that it’s 30 years old but still so relevant

I very much regret buying the favorites. I was disappointed. But I shall definitely have to look at the memoirs!

I’m curious what you didn’t like about it. I loved it.

I liked the idea of it, I very much enjoyed how it was framed and liked the weaving of the documentary aspect with the storyline. It just felt too overwrought and melodramatic. And I didn’t like how it always seemed like Heath was kind of bullied into skating and that made me sad. He never loved skating, he only did it for Cat (it seemed to me). Also, I found it very hard to warm up to any the characters.
